Dr. Sanjeev Kumar

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar is a dedicated and accomplished pulmonologist with over a decade of clinical experience in pulmonary medicine, critical care, and infectious diseases including tuberculosis and COVID-19. He is currently working as an Associate Consultant – Pulmonology at Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, where he brings his extensive clinical expertise to both outpatient and inpatient care. Dr. Kumar completed his MBBS from PGIMS, Rohtak in 2009, followed by a rigorous DNB in Respiratory Diseases from the Rajan Babu Institute of Pulmonary Medicine and Tuberculosis (RBIPMT), New Delhi. He is certified by the National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS) and holds FCCS certification from the Society of Critical Care Medicine, USA. He has previously served at esteemed institutions including RBIPMT, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, Burari Hospital, and Primus Superspeciality Hospital, actively contributing to pulmonary inpatient services, MICU care, and emergency respiratory management. He also provided teleconsultation support during the COVID-19 pandemic, managing mild to moderate cases remotely. Dr. Kumar is highly skilled in diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of respiratory conditions such as tuberculosis (drug-sensitive and drug-resistant), asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease (ILD), ABPA, and pleural diseases. His procedural expertise includes bronchoscopy, pleural tapping, lymph node biopsy, and ICD insertion. He remains academically active, regularly participating in national and international conferences and workshops. He has presented papers and published original research, including his recent publication in JIACM (2024) on TB-HIV co-infection outcomes. He is also a proud member of the Indian Chest Society (ICS) and the European Respiratory Society (ERS).
