Dr Amit kumar is additional director, anesthesia and has over 25 years of experience in anesthesia, critical care and pain management. He is currently leading a team of 40 anesthetists and managing 12 Operation theatres and 3 ICU in Fortis Mohali. He completed his MBBS in 1990 from UCMS & GTB hospital and MD anaesthesia in 1996 from Safdarjung hospital, Delhi. And thereafter, he has worked in Lady Hardinge, Gangaram, Apollo and Aggarsen hospital in Delhi, before joining Fortis mohali in 2003. He was instrumental in setting up " pain clinic "and "painless labor program" here. He is Executive member of Indian society of study of Pain (ISSP) and is a guide and mentor for many DNB students. He is trained in BLS, ACLS and ATLS. His expertise and areas of interest are regional anesthesia, thoracic anesthesia, interventional pain management procedures, fluoroscopy and ultrasound guided procedures.
